Fire Alarm Engineer

Job Summary:

Position Description:

Fire Guard Services Ltd are looking to recruit a part-time Fire Alarm Engineer to join the team to carry out installation works, routine servicing and repairs to various fire alarm systems. Also, on occasion, the servicing of emergency lighting and fire extinguishers, Portable Appliance Testing and other associated systems along with completing and submitting all relevant documentation.

Due to the nature of the work, you may be required to work away or work outside of normal hours (8:30am-5:30am) to complete certain tasks.

Main Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • To work with and under instruction from the Service Manager and Office Manager, complying with work instructions, company policies and health and safety procedures
  • To maintain a working knowledge of current relevant British Standards and undertaking training courses where necessary
  • To act as a company ambassador
  • Be of smart appearance have a pleasant attitude, and the ability to communicate diplomatically to strengthen customer relationships
  • Organise and keep own diary of site visits and other appointments
  • Regular servicing and reactive maintenance of various fire detection and fire alarm systems
  • Regular servicing of emergency lighting and remedial works as required
  • Occasional servicing of fire extinguishers
  • Occasional Portable Appliance Testing
  • Carry out various installations of fire alarm systems
  • Undertake relevant training, required for professional and personal development.
  • Maintain an accurate and high standard of customer, company and personal paperwork.
  • Any other reasonable duties with the role

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Full, valid driving licence
  • An understanding of relevant British Standards, in particular clauses relating to servicing, maintenance and commissioning both fire alarms and extinguishers
  • Experience of working within the electrical sector
  • Experience of working with fire alarms and associated systems
  • Familiarity with safe working practices and health and safety requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Competent using technology such as laptops, measuring devices, smart phones etc.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records whilst regularly submitting customer and company paperwork in a timely manner
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively with staff at varying levels throughout the company
  • A genuine interest in your work with an enthusiasm and willingness to learn

Fire Safety Engineer

We are looking for a Full Time Fire Safety Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary

Employment Type: Full Time – 40 hours per week plus on-call duties (after completion of probation period)

Salary Dependent on experience

Candidates should live within 30 mile radius of Office.

 

Position Description

Fire Guard Services are looking to recruit a Fire Safety Engineer to join their team to carry out routine servicing and small installation works and repairs of various Fire alarm systems, Emergency lighting and Fire Extinguishers. Also Portable Appliance Testing and other associated systems along with completing and submitting all relevant documentation.

Due to the nature of the work, you may be required to work away or work outside of normal hours (8:30AM-5:30PM) to complete certain tasks.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Full, valid driving licence
